This
performance was a bit disappointing, honestly. Maybe because my expectations
were so high? Maybe because there was hardly any magic. Harry Houdini is a world
renowned name that basically everyone knows; therefore, I thought the play should’ve
had a bit more effort put into it than about 5 actors playing 10 roles. The
stage was set up like bleachers watching a sport, sort of like The Liar was. I
guess overall it wasn’t so bad. I got some pretty decent information about
Houdini and his family, although his father’s spirit randomly speaking was
borderline creepy. Their dialogue was kind of funny, if you cared to pay
attention to the non-magic show. And I could tell the actors put a lot of
effort into making the show mechanically flawless. But Houdini was the most
famous magician of all time so I don’t understand how they created an entire 90
minute show without any magic tricks.
Did
I mention there was no magic? L
